Newsflash! Pol Tied To Other Pol Linked To SUBPRIME!

Shocking! Absolutely shocking!

I refer, of course, to Obama's close, nay, brotherly, ties to MA governor Deval Patrick, former board member and, until last year, actor on behalf of Ameriquest Mortgage. :^)

What Patrick did for Ameriquest (#96619)
by dionysus

Was be their token top level guy to implement reforms in regards to employee treatment and lending practices so that the board could clean up their image. This was a while back, a couple years at least before he was elected in 2006. He's got history of playing the same role in several firms with varying degrees of success from a reformist standpoint but this is just what the guy did for a while, it's certainly a more legit job than being the guy in charge of screwing people over although his actions in regard to relations with those companies/industries as governor are certainly fair game if they look preferential (there's been 1 miniscandal in regards to ameriquest, none in regards to coke and whichever other company he did this for).

Anyways, trying to smear Obama with the fact that he looks and talks like Patrick, via a mediocre attack on Patrick? Keep it coming, guys.

You are So Cute (#96321)

First, 'brotherly'. Heh. Classic humor. Very clever.

Now get back to me when Patrick writes Obama's economic plan. Thanks!

Hey, man, tell it to the locals. (#96335)

"We all said that we could have closed our eyes when Obama spoke [and] it could have been Deval," Johnston said.

They do appear to be tight.

Which of Course, Means Nothing (#96339)
by Harley

The Wingtard canard is that there is somehow an equivalence between someone who endorsed a candidate (and apparently sounds like him) and someone who is a candidate's chief economic advisor.

I'm assuming the difference is fairly clear, yes?
