They were coming anyway. Now seems like a good time. The technical side of the transitionary stage is no longer fragile and a lot of the old tacitus members are solidly participating.
Plus all hell has broken loose.
Perhaps we can entice members to not leave until the issue of new management is decided.
So below why not discuss the nature of the elections. I say we do same as before: nominations and then private ranking for a 3 member troika.
Thought: Might be nice to have two conservatives on the board since we've had two lefties for awhile?
UPDATE: how about an 'Aye' or 'Nay' signalling agreement/disagreement w. holding nominations + elections in the next 2 weeks?
UPDATE II: M.A. has resigned since the diary was posted. No longer a question of if we have elections, but when + what type.
New question: should we have a vote to replace just MA, or elections for the entire troika? Register your thoughts + nominations beeeeelooooooow.
Personally, I'd follow MA's suggestion and stagger the elections. That would provide some continuity (and the benefit of experience to any newbies) to the mod board. Just sounds easier for them.
A specific proposal: starting now, elect one new member to a 3 person mod board every 3 months. 9 month term for each mod.
So we elect a replacement for MA now and 3 months down the line flip a coin and hold an election for either Harley or Mac's seat (if they'll stay that long).
What say you people?
