Oh, okay.  Maybe just the worst of this century.  Dukakis had a couple bumps along the way, as I recall.  But it's hard to imagine a poorer example of the modern political campaign than the one Mitt and his team of brain surgeons are currently running aground.  And today's cell phone vid is just another nail in a coffin which at the moment already has all the nails it means.

But what's really interesting, is that Mitt turns out to be every bit the soulless monster that currently roves the fringes -- and, to be honest, most of the heart -- of the GOP.  A rich white Randian a-hole whose primary emotion is contempt. It's as if Erik Ericksson was running for President.

 

Feh.

He's run against the two worst Republican candidates since Goldwater. And Romney seems to be intent on outdoing McCain.

 

The most interesting question for me... will he apologize? Or will he brazen it out? Apology is his anti-brand, but I don't see how he can avoid it here.

and have no non-ludicrous platform to offer the majority of American voters...Obama might be lucky, but he's lucky in that he's running as a Democrat during a moment where the Republican Party is dominated by lackwits.
