How Odd
I was under the impression that it was the position of the Obama Administration that it was inappropriate for the US to be seen to be taking sides in the internal politics of a country whose citizenry might have reason to be sensitive regarding past meddling by the United States. Is that policy non-operative when the @$$#ole buddy of Mr. Chavez is involved?
Just wondering.

Whose side is Obama taking? That's the more interesting question.

)Obama is happy to get rid of another Chavez-like figure but needs to throw a bone to all the Latin American countries that claim they care about this (which they really don't).

)So, do you actually have an opinion on whether the Obama Administration in particular or the US in general should get involved with internal political struggles of either Iran or Honduras that you'd like to defend? Do you think that the two situations are similar enough that the same approach is appropriate for both? Do you think that somehow by posting this you have managed to score some imaginary point that the great game master in the sky will award to you and keep track of for all eternity?

It will stimulate no useful discussion and will likely either die with few comments or stray well off topic. I'll note that you have also declined to offer an opinion on the subject and are merely phoning in a meager defense. The diary is not actually about Latin-American politics, it is about bashing Obama. It does not actually discuss any of the events in Honduras and merely tries to score a cheap political point. If you want to see more of this type of diary at this site you are of course free to post them.
